The Task Manager is how you can see what’s running on a PC, and Microsoft gave it a much-needed overhaul in the recent Windows 11 22H2 update. Now, there are even more improvements on the way.

This year’s major Windows 11 update included an all-new Task Manager, with a more modern appearance (matching other Windows 11 applications), an optional dark mode, and an “Efficiency mode” for limiting background processes. Microsoft has rolled out Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.891 and Build 22623.891 to Windows Insider testers on the Beta Channel, and the former update includes more changes to the Task Manager.

First, Microsoft has finally added a search bar to filter processes. The company said in a blog post, “You can filter either using the binary name, PID or publisher name.
